Salton Sea + Salvation Mountain

Salton Sea + Salvation Mountain

My loco husband decided to ride 157 miles to Palm Springs on the 4th of July. The next day, instead of kickin’ it, we went to the Salton Sea to explore and take foto. We watched a documentary about the sea on Netflix before we went and I had no idea that it was bumpin’ in the 40’s and 50’s. People would flock to this mecca to fish, waterski, swim, and party their faces off. There was even a fancy ass yacht club where celebrities would frequent and perform, a la Desi Arnaz (babaloo). Now, it is litrelly a wasteland of abandoned buildings and dead fish with remnants of trailers and boats.
